Step back in time at Boyett’s Citrus and Attraction, where a statue of Elvis Presley greets you as you enter the gift shop filled with kitschy souvenirs, old-school sodas, candies and an ice cream parlor. Pick up some fresh Florida citrus from their grove while you’re there. Feed the animals in their wildlife park or play some mini-golf. Afterwards, grab some lunch at nearby Coney Island Drive-Inn, an eatery visited by Elvis himself in 1961, the same year he visited Weeki Wachee Springs.

After touring historic Chinsegut Hill Manor House Museum, add on a visit to downtown Brooksville for more historical perspective. Continue your immersion in the mid-1800’s at the May-Stringer House Museum. Brimming with historical artifacts, this distinctive Victorian mansion has many stories to tell. Consider booking a weekend ghost tour; the May-Stringer House is said to be one of the most haunted places in Florida.

While in Brooksville, drive over canopied, cobblestone streets to the 1885 Train Depot and adjacent Countryman One-Room Schoolhouse for more curated history. And, don't miss one of the Adventure Coast's newest places to enjoy living history: the Richloam General Store. True to its authentic 1920's roots, this site is on the National Register of Historic Places. Join the fun at an event to celebrate the official marker unveiling on Saturday June 23rd at 10:00am.
