Mountain biking is a great way to escape traffic, technology and the general noise of daily life. Feel your muscle and cardio strength build as you navigate the up-and-down curves and straight-aways of Florida’s Adventure Coast trails. Heart rate-boosting elevation changes are courtesy of the Brooksville Ridge, marking some of central Florida’s highest points. Free of motorized traffic and away from all commerce, stop; catch your breath and listen to the evening sounds of nature.

Florida’s Adventure Coast delivers loads of mountain bike trail options for year-round cycling. Organized evening rides hold appeal as after-work exercise options with lower temperatures and the thrilling sunset/moonrise combination. Headlamps are recommended as the rides often extend after dark. Cyclists of varying skill levels are welcome and the rides offer different paces, but all should be comfortable with a 12-16-mile minimum ride.

For more mountain biking adventures, check out the Southwest Association of Mountain Bike Pedalers, Inc. (SWAMP). Active in the Tampa Bay region, find many organized rides and events. The club maps and maintains area trails. With 60 miles of trails, the mapped Florida’s Adventure Coast Croom Tract represents the largest trail system the club maintains.

Start today with this sustainable way to relish the outdoors, get fit and spend time with others that share your mountain biking passion.
