Swing for Golf Gold

Sample Stay & Play Inspiration

Florida's Adventure Coast Brooksville - Weeki Wachee is not only "Nature's Place to Play,” it's also your place to play some of central Florida's best golf.

Savor the sunshine on courses suitable for all ages and abilities, from novice-friendly wide fairways to precision-shot experienced. You’ll enjoy unexpected vistas and terrain variations on courses situated in an area known as the Brooksville Ridge.

From your first swing off the tee to your sunset, this sample itinerary will create shots, moments and memories you will want to share.

Day One
Begin with an early round of golf at Brooksville Golf & Country Club Challenge yourself on the back nine among holes sculpted around a former quarry.

Stay for lunch at the Country Club's Bar and Grill. Nestled among majestic oaks dripping with spanish moss, the dining rooms feature panoramic views of the golf course. Take in the spectacular view while enjoying a leisurely lunch. The friendly Brooksville Country Club staff is happy to serve you with a full-service bar and grill menu. Refreshments and sandwiches are also available on the golf course.

Enjoy the pool and amenities at your lodging location, or venture into Brooksville for a self-guided walking tour of historic downtown Brooksville. Afterwards, pay a visit to
Chinsegut Hill Manor House Museum, recently restored to its stately prominence atop the highest point in the county.

Pair beautiful coastal scenery with delectable dining at one of the Adventure Coast's local landmarks, The Bayport Inn. This Old World Florida restaurant is iconic, with original hand-hewn flooring. The gastronomic delights include everything from burgers and baskets to seafood and pasta. Dine inside or outside on the Tiki deck with live entertainment on the weekends. Due to the great menu and popularity of the Bayport Inn, reservations are recommended.

You might want to bring a camera with you to capture an Adventure Coast spectacular sunset after dinner. Choose nearby Bayport Park or Pine Island Beach to watch the sun drop gently down to the horizon.

Day Two
Head to a local Brooksville favorite for your hearty breakfast. The Breakfast Station was founded in 1995 and boasts great food at great prices. Choose The Depot Breakfast, the Train Wreck or the Railroad Yard omelet to get energized for a nice afternoon round of golf.

A highlight of your golf itinerary will be playing World Woods Golf Club, Florida's only 5 star public golf course. Located 12 miles northwest of downtown Brooksville, two award-winning Tom Fazio designed 18-hole courses "Rolling Oaks" and "Pine Barrens" lure you to challenge yourself. The fragrance of pines and exceptional putting surfaces make for an incredible golf experience.

Enjoy the World Woods Grill Room following your round for light refreshments to a full lunch.

Be sure to check out many lodging choices from full-service hotels to a cabin at Mary's Fish Camp, where you can drop a line after dinner for a complete weekend of Fins n' Skins!
